Ball Mastery
The Ball Mastery School is designed for players looking to raise their game for the next level. This advanced training opportunity will be offered to players from the Prior Lake Soccer Club and Burnsville Fire Soccer Club. The latest coaching techniques and exercises will be implemented into a curriculum that will challenge young players to think outside the box and improve their technical (ball skills) ability of each player. Sessions will include soccer related exercises and small sided matches to help teach the game of soccer.
Both PLSC and BFSC take great pride in knowing that our players are trained to meet their full potential. This is a special local opportunity that will incorporate ball mastery, small sided play and explosive training. By combining clubs for this training, our players will benefit by having more players at their age level at a reduced price. During this 7-week School, our players hard work and dedication will help take them to the next level. The School will have two groups U9-U12 and U13+. Boys and girls will not be separated.

Score! Score! Score!
This program gives players the permission to score, which also means giving the permission to miss. This training opportunity will be offered to players from the Prior Lake Soccer Club and Burnsville Fire Soccer Club. This seven-week clinic will have three main phases. First will be the explanation of all three finishing angles: central, near post, and far post. Second will be the breakdown of various ball striking techniques. The final phase is decision making (breakaways, shooting from distance, volleys, rebounds, etc...). All three phases will help us accomplish ‘The Goal”.
We will also focus on important traits of quality finishers: Confidence, Composure, Vision, and Strength.

Combination Play
Combinations teaches players to think more than 1 pass ahead during play- fast, forward, and finding space to attack. This training opportunity will be offered to players from the Prior Lake Soccer Club and Burnsville Fire Soccer Club. It focuses more on a possession-style of soccer. To promote team play over individual play, the emphasis will be on passing the ball. Combination Play explains and demonstrates natural patterns that maintain possession.
Combination play is simply the passing between two or more players. It is a correlation of transmitting the ball (Pass), getting free from cover (Movement off the ball), and receiving the ball (Control). Combination Play will help players visualize and utilize more of the field (Spacing), dictate speed of play (Tempo) and move off the ball (Runs). It will introduce directional play in all 3rd’s of the field: defensive zone, midfield zone, attacking zone. Combination Play will force players to play out of tight spaces as well as how to “stretch” the field. Combination Play will improve players timing, accuracy, teamwork and confidence on/ off the ball.

Goal Keeper Training
Under the direction of BFSC Director of Coaching Mark Carr, this Goal Keeper Training opportunity will be offered to players from the Burnsville Fire Soccer Club and Prior Lake Soccer Club. The objective of goalie specific training is to develop skills across three areas for GK’s (technical, tactical, and emotional). The technical skills are the most visible and important for a fundamental game. This includes catching, diving, distribution, etc... The tactical skills are the game within the game where we look at angles, positioning, set plays, etc... The tactical aspect grows over time and where the goalkeeper can establish themselves as an on-field coach. Among the emotional aspects of game development are; leadership, preparation, training, and teamwork. Our end goal is to develop GK’s who enjoy the game. While developing their skills, we want them to learn the game and learn about themselves.
