I saw this goal on Sunday in the Manchester City v. Newcastle game, and it's a great example of midfielders and a defender moving up to support a forward who has the ball. The beautiful part of the goal isn't Toure's shot, but how the ball gets to him.
Watch the video, and have your player watch the video, starting at the Newcastle corner kick at the 16:05 mark to the Manchester City goal at the 17:30 mark. The goal is shown twice, the second time from above. You can move the video progress bar to fast forward: http://www.mcfc.co.uk/citytv/Match-highlights/2012/May/Newcastle-v-City-Extended-Highlights
After the corner kick, Kompany (4, Defender) heads the ball away from the goal. Aguero (16, Forward) gets the ball, runs up the right side, and slows down a little to allow some of his teammates to catch up to him. Toure (42, Midfielder), De Jong (34, M), and Clichy (22, D) come up the field so there is a line across the field: 22 34 42 16. Aguero crosses to De Jong (M), De Jong passes to Clichy (D), Clichy passes to Toure and Toure scores!
I'd also encourage you to watch some professional soccer games with your player. Seeing professional games gives us an idea of the kind of play to aspire to. Imagine trying to learn to play basketball or football if you only ever saw other 9 year olds play the game!
